TOP FIVE CANCER CAUSING FOODS

Here are the five worst offenders:
  • Hot dogs: The Cancer Prevention Coalition recommends that children should not eat more than 12 hot dogs per month because of the risk of cancer. If you must have your hot dog fix, look for those without sodium nitrite listed among the ingredients.

  • Processed meats and bacon: These meats almost always contain the same sodium nitrite found in hot dogs. You can find some without nitrites, but you'll have to look for them in natural grocers or health food stores. Bacon is also high in saturated fat, which contributes to the risk of cancers, including breast cancer. Limiting your consumption of processed meats and saturated fats also benefits the heart.

  • Doughnuts: Doughnuts contain hydrogenated oils, white flour, sugar, and acrylamides. Essentially, they're one of the worst cancer foods you can possibly eat. Reader's Digest calls doughnuts "disastrous" as a breakfast food, and many experts agree it's probably one of the worst ways to start the day.

  • French fries: Fries are made with hydrogenated oil and fried at high temperatures. Some chains even add sugar to their fry recipe to make them even more irresistible. Not only do they clog your arteries with saturated fat and trans fat, they also contain acrylamides. They should be called "cancer fries," not French fries.
  • Chips / crackers / cookies: These generally contain white flour and sugar as well as trans fats, but it's not enough to simply look for these ingredients on the label; you have to actually "decode" the ingredients list that food manufacturers use to deceive consumers. They do this by hiding ingredients (such as hiding MSG in yeast extract, or by fiddling with serving sizes so they can claim the food is trans fat free, even when it contains trans fats (the new Girl Scout cookies use this trick).
These may be some of our everyday favourite food. So it's time to change our eating habits and our lifestyle. Eat more natural food and get more exercise. Never says I'm too busy. Make time for yourself for the sake of your family......

WOMB CANCER

Womb cancer, also called uterine cancer, develops in the lining or the wall of your womb. It's caused by an abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells. It can be malignant or benign.

Malignant tumours are cancerous. They spread to other parts of your body and invade surrounding tissue. A malignant tumour can grow through your womb and spread to other parts of your body through your bloodstream or lymph system. This spread of cancer is called metastasis.

Benign tumours aren't cancerous. They don't spread to other parts of the body and don't invade surrounding tissue.

Symptoms of womb cancer

The most common symptom of womb cancer is bleeding from the vagina, particularly in older women who have been through the menopause. If you haven't yet been through the menopause, you may find that you have unusually heavy bleeding during your period or bleeding between periods.

There are a number of other symptoms that might be caused by cancer of the womb. These include:

  • discharge from your vagina
  • pain in your lower abdomen (tummy), back or legs
  • pain or discomfort during sex

These symptoms may be caused by problems other than womb cancer. If you have any of these symptoms, visit your GP for advice.

MOM IN HOSPITAL AGAIN

Mom celebrated mother's day in the hospital. After 6 months of non-hospital stay, she's in again. This time she needs 5 pints of blood.
She became anaemic 3 year ago due to radiotherapy treatment for womb cancer. It was a painful journey for all of us especially mom at the age of 85 years old. At her age, her body couldn't
take the treatment. It weakens her and she became depressed. We are all walking through this painful journey with her all the way.
I hope that she don't need another blood transfusion for another 6 months, which is consider very good.....

JALAN SILANG BEEF BALL NOODLE

Jalan Silang beef ball noodles is one of the best in town. I was craving for it for a long time. They are open from Monday to Saturday only and going to that part of town on this days is crazy. But my craving got the best of me, so I've decided to brave the crazy traffic for that hot bowl of beef ball noodle. The noodle is soft and chewy and the beef ball is springy. And it's a must to eat it with their famous chili sauce. The best thing is that the soup is piping hot. After a satisfying meal, I brave myself thru the mad traffic and reach home feeling yummy & happy.....

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

The thought of my mom brings back memories of the time when I was young. I always remember how I needed her attentions as there were 8 of us in the family, how she has to do the household chores and trying to give her best to us...

Now she is old and sick and it is our turn to give all our attention to her. My heart hurts to see her so frail. I missed the strong and confident women that she once was.... I missed being her daughter...now we have to be her mother...she no longer gives us advice nor does she shows concern when we are sick.....
I missed my mother's motherly care so much.....
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM...eventhough you don't know that I'm writing about you in my blog...I LOVE YOU!!
