COSPLAYING....A HOBBY

My daughter wants me to blog about her cosplaying activities because she wants more followers on her facebook and instagram account.

Getting a manicure from her assistant...
She started cosplaying after attending C2AGE 2012  in Tropicana City Mall last year.
KM self created costume on her 2nd event and posing with a young fan.

Of course she has to ask our permission and after some serious thinking and understanding what is cosplaying, we allowed her to cosplay with her promising us that she will not neglect her studies,
Playing the character of Yuuki Cross in the anime series Vampire Knight during her 3rd event.

Being a first timer, we do not know where to buy the costume so her first one was tailored made.

It was tiring because we have to hunt for the right material and accessories for the character.
In her favorite character Alice (Lolita Version) of Alice In Wonderland on her 4th event.

Things gets much easier after my daughter participate  in her first cosplaying event.

We got to know a really friendly cosplayer and her mother. She gave us all the information and contacts on cosplaying and that really helps and save us the hassle of shopping for materials and going to the tailor again.

Basically, cosplaying is a hobby enjoyed mostly by young adults but there are also some older ones which has been a pioneer in this hobby.

Although I do not have much knowledge about the history of cosplaying, but after attending quite a fair deal of event with my daughter,  in my personal opinion, this is a healthy hobby for young people.

For some, cosplayer may look weird when they are dressed up complete with colorful wigs and out of the world costume.
Alice and the paparazzi...

I was feeling the same too initially but my thoughts change after seeing how this young people painstakingly goes all way out to dress and fit into their character is really admirable.

My daughter has been attending cosplaying events for one year and I am happy that she has also kept her promise.

She has perform well in her studies and she is able to divide her time between play and responsibilities.

You can add her as your friend in Facebook if you want to see more of her cosplaying activities at https://www.facebook.com/yuka.hayashi.3572?fref=ts and please do follow her on Instagram, user name: yuka_karmun

LOST AND FOUND

Me & JL during one of our Company's dinner.
Once again I have to brag about the effectiveness of social networking in connecting people.

You can't blame me for bringing up this issue again because two days ago, I have manage to locate another ex-colleague through the social media.

JL was my first colleague when I got my first job 30years ago when I was sweet eighteen.

We were both fresh out from school and also coincidentally from the same village.
Celebrating Chinese New Year in our office (JL is 1st on the left & me 1st on the right). I have yet to find the other two friends & hope luck will strike me again in locating them.

We share many girlish gossip together and I know her fiance fairly well.

They got married not long and have a beautiful baby girl named Carol.

If I can vaguely recall, the whole family migrated to New Zealand 3years after Carol was born and the last I heard about them was some unfortunate news.
JL & Hubby on their wedding day.

JL husband died of cancer while they were in New Zealand and that's all the news that we've got because communication was zero for us, without the luxuries of Internet of course.

Life goes on and somehow I have forgotten about this dear friend until I found her through one of my new FB friend.

I could recognized JL immediately  because she is still the same tall lanky girl I've known 30years ago except for her blond colored hair and some extra years added to her face.

Tears swelled up in my eyes when I saw a beautiful young lady which  resemble  JL and I instantly knew it is Carol, the baby which I last saw 30 years back.
Jl & her daughter Carol....

We have a short chat on the Internet and updated each other about our shelves.

JL is now residing in Australia with Carol and have also found love there.

I hope to meet up with JL again when she comes back to her home country  for a holiday.

OUR BELOVED FLUFFY

It took me nine months to take up the courage to write about our pet rabbit, Fluffy.

I took it badly when Fluffy died on the 7th August 2012 and the sight or mentioned of rabbits would break my heart.

So I have been avoiding this topic for a long while until now.

Fluffy came into our life when she was just a baby and a very mischievous one but she is also one weird rabbit that makes a lot of funny strange noise.
Fluffy doing her usual inspection in the house..

That prompted me to google up on rabbits behaviour and soon learn that the sound she made depends on her mood and thumping her back feet means danger....of course the danger that she sense is always the neighbor's cat :D !

And also thanks to Fluffy that I got myself a new set of curtains as she also loves to chew on things that is within her reach.

So very often I have to get the electrician to change the wiring on our electrical appliance also because that's her favorite meals.

Of course I was furious with her for causing all the damages in the house but that would not last long.

One look at her lovey dovey eyes will just melt away all the anger....
Fluffy & her young master.

We also have a habit of pampering her by giving her human food because we know she got bored with rabbit pellet and carrot.

On the night of  5th August 2012 when we came back from our late dinner, I sense something was not right with Fluffy.

Usually she would be standing up and begging for food but she was not moving at all and upon nearer inspection, I found that her hind legs was limp and she was dragging it.
Fluffy in her favorite position.

As it was already midnight, we have to wait until the next day to send her to the veterinarian.

It seems that she has injured her spine. She was given an injection to ease the pain and to relaxed her muscle and we were told to wait for about  a week to further assess her condition.

Day 2 after her injuries she is still eating and drinking a little but into day 3, she was totally not taking in anything at all and I knew she was giving up.

My heart break to see her so helpless and in such pain. We knew that we have to do what is  best for her.

On Tuesday morning, on 7th August 2012 at 11.00am, we took Fluffy to the vet. She sat in my arms as she got the shot, and we chatted until she fell asleep. Then I held her while the vet gave her a second shot that put her to sleep forever. It was peaceful and Fluffy did not suffer but that day I could not stop my tears.

To make sure that Fluffy will be always happy in everland, we buried her in a huge grassy field where she will be able to hop freely and happily forever.

GoodBye my little furry pet.. Fluffy...my heart still ache for you while writing this♥ ♥ ♥

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER

Me and my darling girl during one of our holidays....totally loving it!

When my mother told me "A child will only feels a mother's pain when she has becomes a mother herself" some 30years back does not register into my brain at all.

It does now and it is registering and printing every word she told me into my stubborn brain.

Raising a teenager is challenging but naturally as a mother, I am also loving every moment of it.

I has always thought that I am a totally confident person when handling difficult situation.

Everything crumble when I was faced with sticky problem arising from our mother and daughter relationship.

It does not help either when I am now in my fifties and she turning thirteen where both of us are having hormonal issue. Me on the withering end while she's going into full bloom.

Hormonal changes has made me a fussy, sensitive and teary person while she is fun free, careless and also non engageable at times.

So you can see the clash on our personal view when dealing with everyday issue.

Well, a mother's got to do what a mother does best, take a deep breath and count to ten every time I have something to comment about her.

Come to think about it, it is a good remedy for my impatience personality.

I have to admit that every time I have achieve this feat, I feel so superior.... :)

There is no doubt that I have change to a better person (not that I am a bad person before) and I have also learn a lot from parenting.

My daughter's favorite hobby...cosplaying
Learning that I have to keep myself undated about her school happening, her ever changing thoughts, sharing her interest and hobbies although sometimes I am clueless about it and of course when she is sad, I will want to be the first person to hug and comfort her although she had always hide her feeling from me and being a teen, she would not want all those hugs and kisses anymore...and I really miss that awfully.
Photo of mom with her bff when she was sweet 18 (2nd from left)

Motherhood has also made me a softies. Every time after reprimanding her for her misdeed, I will feel so sorry so much so that I wanted to hug her and tell her everything is fine.

Guess that's natural  for all mothers to feel the heartache and I bet mine also feel the same way for me when I was a trouble and rebellious teenage daughter myself.
My family celebrating mom's 89 years old birthday...

Well, it's never too late for me to shower my mom with love and teach my daughter what my mom has taught me.

Happy Mother's Day ... it's a wee-bit too early but I guess it's fine.
