My husband celebrated his 50th birthday with all his seven sister and their families.
It was a really a special birthday for him this year.
Unofficially, he is joining the senior citizen club even though he is not 55 yet.
Secondly, almost all his sisters attended his birthday duo and for those who can't made it, they send their children.
He personally went all way out to book a nice cozy western restaurant and planned the menu.
It was an exciting event for me and my daughter.
We did a slide show for him using photos of him and his sisters when they were young.
Dinner time was at 7.30pm. Everybody was quite punctual and dinner was served without much fuss as we have the whole of the upstairs of the restaurant to ourselves.
After dinner, everybody adjourned to the bar and it was surprise time for my husband and all his sisters.
Slide show of their childhood photos appears on the huge projector screen with "Yesterday Once More" playing in the background.
It was a nostlagic moment for everybody. A moment that transport everyone back to their carefree childhood days. Jumping ropes and playing hopscotch. Smelling the rain and feeling the wind. Life is full of beauty. Yes, that is pure innocence.
At this sentimental moment, the birthday cake was presented to my husband with 5 candles on it. It was arranged by his 5th sister, Carol. We sang a birthday song for him. He was so surprised and overjoyed that he could not find words to expressed himself.
As he would have it, I know the gratitude he had for them is always in his heart.
